Little girls can be very innocently demanding at times, especially when it comes to clothes. Remember when your mom or dad used to dress you? There’s not all that much you can do.

No matter what you do it’s just not going to be enough for her. At the age of 3 she’s just not going to understand that the washing takes time, and you don’t want her giving you the face. Distraction may just be your only way out. Children just love interaction. From day one they begin to associate sounds, feelings, colors and more. No matter the age don’t be afraid to talk to her about these associations. Even if she can’t speak perfectly, she’s still going to love and learn from the interaction.

It’s not all about the dress, it’s about how she feels in the dress. When she tries other girls dresses (or vestidos infantis, as the Portuguese say) on, make sure you tell her how beautiful she is. Put extra emphasis on putting her shoes on. Let her know each and every piece blends in perfectly with the last. It may sound silly, but you’ll know just how much that extra bit of interaction means to her when you see that smile on her face. She loves it.
